How To: D.I.Y. Photobooth Strips!

How To Make Photobooth Strips

Have you seen those cute journal entries on Pinterest with photobooth-esque images decorating spreads? This is pretty simple to achieve with a printer and paper. I'll be using a Kodak Step for this process, as the photos print automatically on sticker paper and there's an in-app collage feature that makes the process a lot simpler. If you are not using a Kodak step, I suggest either Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, or Canva as it's easier to make images scaled to a certain inch in these programs. In this blog post, I'll help guide you through how to make photobooth strips at home to decorate your journal entries with, featuring both word descriptions and images! This is a really simple but cute way to make putting photos in your journal or scrapbook more fun!

What you'll need:

  • A printer
  • Glue/tape if not sticker paper
  • Scissors
  • Construction or printer paper
  • A ruler

Step One: Collage Your Images and Print

If using a Kodak Step, you'll need to select your image on the app and then select "collage." Click the four-image collage. This will set each image (assuming you don't tweak them) to be an even size, at roughly 2.7 centimeters (a little over one inch) tall and 3.6 centimeters wide. Otherwise, if doing so in a program, set your image to 2.5 centimeters. They can be either a square (will change measurements if so) or rectangle, but all should be a uniform shape rather than a combination of shapes. Once you have that figured out, print your images, and you'll be ready to move onto the next step.

Step Two: Measure Your Paper

Take the color paper you chose (I'm using standard copy paper for my example) and cut it to be approximately 12 centimeters long and 4 centimeters wide. If you do squares, then you can make it a little less wide so there's less excess border space.

Step Three: Cut and Glue!

Cut out your pieces! Try to cut as straight as possible, but it's okay if you mess up a little along the way! After cutting, try to arrange your pieces on the strip before permanently peeling & sticking or gluing them onto the page. Congrats, you now have your photobooth-esque photo layout to put in your journal or scrapbook!
